Montreal Gay Bars

Montreal’s gay scene has been thriving since the 1960s. The Village area, just north of the downtown area, is the gayborhood. Almost all of the city’s 17 Montreal gay bars are located on Saint Catherine Street East, which is the area’s bustling hub.

The broad range of venues means there’s something for every gay traveler. Whether you’re looking for a chill-out sports bar, a classy cocktail bar, karaoke, or drag, there’s a bar specializing in that. Bears and Leather Guys also have two exclusive venues.

Montreal gay bars have extended operating hours; it’s standard for most venues to close well into the night, with some opening as early as 8 am.
