There are quite a few gay saunas in Madrid, but expect them to be emptier during the summer, when most people will not be tempted by a steam room. In winter, however, when temperatures cool down, Madrid’s gay population tends to return to a good old sauna.
Sauna Paraiso is one of the oldest and most well-established establishments, offering all the usual facilities, as well as a heated underground pool, cinema, and dungeon. Sauna Principe tends to cater to an older crowd and bears, while Sauna Center has limited small sauna facilities but over 100 private cabins. Sauna Adan is another popular option, which is particularly known for its South American rent boys, best avoided if you don’t want to pay.
Most of these saunas are modern and clean, and are maintained to a good standard. Most are licensed and have bars inside, some of which are quite good bars in their own right. Saunas tend to charge between €10 and €15 for entry, but may include a free drink at the bar. While some will provide condoms and lube, this won’t be the case for all of them, so bring your own just in case.

Sauna Octopus at the north of the Chueca gayborhood, covers a massive 1,000 square meters. It caters primarily to bears, mature men, and their admirers. The sauna features a Finnish sauna, Turkish baths, a heated pool, two dark rooms, 20 private cabins, a movie theater, a dungeon, and a bondage area. Massage services are also available for an extra charge. The crowd is predominantly mature men 40+.
Sauna Octopus is open daily from 1 pm until midnight, and entry is €15 on weekdays and €16 on weekends.

Here you’ll find plenty of young guys hanging out in the Finnish sauna, Turkish baths, an underground heated pool, a jacuzzi, 30 private cabins, three dark rooms, a round group bed, a gay cinema, and a BDSM area with a cell, rack, and St. Andrew’s cross. Massage is available for an additional fee.
Sauna Paraiso is open from 10 am until midnight weekdays and 24/7 on Fridays and Saturdays. The entry fee is €17 on weekdays and €20 on weekends.

Sauna Beach is a unique gay sauna in Madrid’s city center, just south of the Chueca gayborhood. It’s different as it has a beach-themed experience with a “chiringuito” bar upstairs. The venue is divided into three main areas: the spa/bar upstairs, the cruising area downstairs, and a BDSM zone below. Facilities include a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, darkroom, glory hole area, orgy area, XXX cinemas, and two fetish spaces named ‘Laboratory’ and ‘The Jail’. Sauna Beach also hosts events like live sex shows by porn stars. Massages are available for an extra fee.
Sauna Beach is open Monday to Wednesday from 10 am until midnight and then 24/7 from Thursday at 10 am until Monday at midnight. The entrance fee ranges from €5 to €20, depending on the night or the event. Event tickets include two drinks.

Sauna Lavapies is a well-maintained gay sauna located in the Lavapiés neighborhood, just south of the Chueca gayborhood. Where Sauna Lavapies is unique is that it has an underground setting with a cave-like ambiance, featuring a dry sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, bar, dark room, and private cabins. The sauna is clean, well-maintained, and has friendly staff. Its location in the multicultural neighborhood adds to its appeal, offering a diverse gay clientele. Themes include naked night on Tuesdays and Fridays. Massage is available at an additional cost.
Sauna Lavapies is open daily from 2 pm until 6 am. The entry fee changes daily. Monday is customer day, €13, Wednesday is teenagers’ day (18+), €11, and entry after midnight on any night is €18.
