Hotel Caron is located in the Marais, about ten minutes away from the main cluster of gay bars. Nearby attractions include the Picasso Museum, Centre Pompidou, Notre-Dame, the Chatelet shopping area, and Place des Vosges, which is just a 5-minute walk away.

The apartments are all comfortable and fairly spacious, ranging from studio size to 1-bedroom. The 1-bedroom apartment can sleep four people, making it a very convenient option for groups. There is not too much difference between the Studio and Studio Deluxe rooms, aside from a sofa and iPod docking station in the latter. Trou Aux Biches, another popular gay dance party, is held at Le Java, about ten minutes further down the road from Apollo.

The hotel itself is no-frills, offering overall good value for money. The rooms are modern and well-designed but some are looking a bit tired in places. They are, however, comfortable and always perfectly clean. The rooms are also quite small, even for Parisian standards, but this is to be expected for the price you pay in such a good location.

This is a good choice if you are on a budget, want to stay centrally, and just need a clean, cozy place to lie your head at night.

Hotel Jules & Jim is a popular gay-friendly Paris hotel located in the Marais. It is made up of a main building and two smaller houses, surrounding an lovely secluded courtyard. This gives the hotel an impression of quiet and serenity, even as you stay within the heart of the city.

There are only 23 rooms, but five distinct categories mean that there is plenty of choice. In particular, we recommend the “Jules” rooms for solo travelers, the Hi-Mac rooms for fans of modern design, and the romantic Sous Les Toits (Under The Roofs) room for couples, which have their own small balcony with views of Paris.

There is a cool and trendy bar with courtyard seating which serves inventive cocktails and attracts a crowd of local Parisians as well as hotel guests. The hotel also functions as an art gallery for up-and-coming artists, with a particular focus on photography, illustration, and street art.

Jules & Jim is perfectly located, within a 10-minute walk of the gay bars in the Marais as well as the Picasso Museum, Centre Pompidou, Notre-Dame, and the shops and city-wide transport links of Chatelet. Quikery or bonkers the designer have put a lot of effort into the 25hours Hotel Terminus Nord. This new-gen gay-friendly lifestyle hotel sits at Paris’s Gare du Nord train station. Convenient for train travelers and centrally located in the city. However, from here most of Paris’s gay nightlife is about 3km away in Le Marais (gayborhood).

Hotel du Petit Moulin is a beautifully quirky “couture” boutique hotel in the Marais. The building was originally Paris’ first bakery, and the original frontage has been preserved so that you feel like you are entering a classic Boulangerie every time you return to your hotel room.

Inside, the rooms, designed by Christian LaCroix, are also filled with eccentricities, from wildly clashing wallpaper prints to huge murals and colorful patterned tilework in the bathrooms. Some are more flamboyant than others, but all maintain a sense of fun, color, and style. Overall this is not a hotel for those who like a muted palette and a neutral atmosphere.

This is very much an intimate boutique experience – there are only a total of 17 rooms, including an attic Junior Suite. This allows every room to be completely unique. Some have a decadent baroque feel to them, some feature nods to Parisian fashion and architecture, and some are sleek and contemporary.

The location is one of the hotel’s best features. As well as being only a stone’s throw away from the Picasso Museum, it is just a 10-minute walk to most of the bars and clubs in the Marais. There are two gay bars just around the corner: seedy cruise bar Le Mensch and local favorite One Way, popular with a leather and bear crowd. Opera isn’t a particularly gay area, but it is one of Paris’ most iconic and gorgeous neighborhoods. There are a few gay nightlife options nearby, such as Doctor Love and LIM parties at Club Haussmann and Bizarre Love Triangle at Maxim’s, both about 10 minutes away. Two gay saunas, Sauna IDM and Euro Men’s Club, are also walking distance. The gay bars and clubs of the Marais can easily be accessed in under 20 minutes with the Metro.

When it comes to Paris locations, it doesn’t get any more iconic than this. Hotel Napoleon is located less than 5 minutes away from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysées, placing you in the middle of Paris’ luxury shopping area. The rest of the city is easily reached by Metro, with the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Opera, and Marais gay area all reachable within 20 minutes. Matinee Paris, one of the city’s biggest and wildest gay parties, is held at a club just 5 minutes away from the hotel.

As the name implies, Hotel Napoleon is decorated in a lavish Empire style, with rich fabrics, curtained beds, and antique touches. There are both rooms and suites, all beautifully arranged and supremely comfortable. Certain suites have incredible views over the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower – although these of course are considerably more expensive.

The Bivouac restaurant offers modern twists on classic French cuisine – check out the weekly market lunch menu for something inventive and incredibly fresh. Its terrace is a lovely and quiet place to drink and dine, especially during the warmer months. The hotel also offers a delectable Sunday brunch, with champagne, perfect pastries and cakes, savory treats, and beautifully fresh fruit.

This Mercure hotel is located just minutes from the Eiffel Tower, meaning you are right next to the one thing every visitor to Paris wants to see. While this is a bit removed from both the Marais gayborhood and central Paris landmarks, the city’s trusty Metro means that nothing is ever very far away. There is a great Thai-themed gay sauna about 25 minutes away, and there are sometimes gay events at nearby Palais de Tokyo.

The hotel has been recently renovated and all the rooms are looking stylish and modern. The Eiffel Tower is a recurring theme in the rooms, with large murals of the monument overlooking every bed, but the decor is otherwise simple and minimalist. Most of the rooms look alike, but differ in size, amenities, and view – the Eiffel Tower view in certain rooms never gets old. Privilege rooms have additional luxury bedding, iPod docking, and Nespresso machines, while the suites have heavenly essential oils diffusers in the showers.

The downstairs restaurant is airy and extremely pleasant, and also features a terrace for sunny days. Breakfast is tasty, varied, and good value – especially since cafes in the area are likely to be very pricey. The fitness center is small but has perfect views of the Eiffel Tower, making your workouts in Paris that little bit more special.

The People (previously called Les Piaules) is a top-ranking hostel in Paris, offering high-quality dorms and privates for budget travelers. Dorm rooms come in 4, 6, and 8-person sizes, which means you could easily book a full one if you were traveling with friends. Meanwhile, the private rooms at this hostel are more spacious and comfortable than many in regular hotels across Paris.

The hostel has designed their very own “Le Plumard” bunk beds, which feature everything you could want in a compact and practical design. All dorm rooms feature super-comfy beds, fun and bright decor, personal power outlets and reading lights, and super-fast WiFi. If you go for the private room, you will also get a private bathroom, Bluetooth speakers, and a capsule coffee machine.

The hostel has a nice bar and cafe where you can mingle with other travelers. The prices are very reasonable, making this a great spot to start the night with a few drinks and a quick bite of food. As is usually the case with a good hostel, the staff is super cool and friendly.

The 3 Ducks is a friendly boutique hostel, featuring cool creative design in a historic Parisian building. It is the oldest private hostel in Paris, meaning it has decades of experience in helping budget travelers enjoy the city, but a 2014 renovation has allowed it to stay fresh and current.

The dorms are comfortable and quite large, with 4, 6, and 8-bed options available. You can book an entire private dorm for you and your friends. All dorm beds come with individual plugs, USB ports, reading lights, and safety lockers. There are a few private rooms, all of which are comfortable and affordable for couples.

Both the bar and outside patio are great places to mingle and swap stories with other travelers. There is a free breakfast offered every morning, which despite being basic is still to be appreciated in a pricey city like Paris.

The 3 Ducks is located just 10 minutes away from the Eiffel Tower. This is slightly far away from most of the other Paris highlights, but super close access to Metro line 8 makes it easy for you to reach the more central areas, including the Marais gay neighborhood.
