Gay Hotel Hua Hin

Best Gay Hotels in Hua Hin

Hua Hin is the former playground of the royal family, up to the recently deceased King Rama IX. The current monarch doesn’t tend to visit as often as his parents did.

It’s now a luxury escape for many Bangkokians as it’s only a three-hour drive south. During long weekends and holidays, it can get very crowded.

The beach at Hua Hin stretches for 7 km, and many properties are absolute beachfront. The sun rises in the east, offering spectacular morning views.

There are 5-star hotels from all the big brands here. Dusit, IHG, Accor as well as boutique ones like MGallery. Most beachfront hotels are luxury 5-star, but we found a unique 3-star worth considering.

The good news is that Hua Hin is generally less expensive for tourists than Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. This applies to accommodation, food, and transport.

There are no official gay-owned or operated hotels in Hua Hin. Thailand is very accepting of alternative lifestyles, and gays are welcomed with open arms in every property.

The hospitality industry is a haven for gay people, so don’t be surprised to find reception, housekeeping, bar servers, and pool attendants as like-minded as you.

Hua Hin isn’t well-known as a huge gay mecca like Silom in Bangkok or Jomtien in Pattaya. There are gay couples, primarily ex-pats, with their Thai partners sprinkled around, and there is one small, friendly gay bar in the center of the city, conveniently located directly behind the Standard Hua Hin..

Hua Hin is primarily a flop-and-drop destination, so there aren’t any specific gayborhoods like in other cities in South East Asia. Culturally, there are beautiful temples to visit, and Rajabhakti Park features monuments of seven revered former kings of Thailand.

Cafes, bars, and restaurants line the beach and are well worth visiting. The night market in the center of the city and the Cicada and Tamarind markets to the south are also worth visiting.

Why we love it

♥ Iconic Design from The Standard
♥ Absolute Beachfront
♥ Luxurious Private Pool Villas
♥ LGBT Programming and Parties

Debuting on Hua Hin’s main beach, The Standard Hua Hin opens with the flair of a party-hard hotel brand, infusing Hollywood glam and a burst of youthful energy into this coastal haven.  Just a breezy 3.5-hour journey from Bangkok, the hotel’s modernist lobby contrasts the traditional Thai aesthetic with contemporary art and mid-century furnishings. A whimsical garden beckons exploration, leading to a main wing embracing a majestic banyan tree. This poolside oasis doubles as the setting for the resort’s dining gems, Lido and Praça, offering a fusion of Italian-inspired flavors and inventive Thai bites. The resort redefines Hua Hin’s landscape, introducing an electrifying twist to a destination usually associated with a more mature crowd, and it promises an experience that will leave an indelible mark.
