Phuket

Probably Thailand’s most famous island. Think crystal blue waters, white sand and a choice of deserted beaches in the north or packed party vibes in Patong. Phuket is in South West Thailand along the Andaman coast. From here you can easily reach other must see beach destinations: Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, and Khoa Lak all within a 2 hour drive / ferry. Perfect for some island hopping.

The SIS Kata Phuket

What did you think of the hotel? We love how close it was to all the major attractions around Phuket. A one hour boat ride to the Koh Phi Phi islands and the surrounding beach, a 10 minutes taxi ride to Patong without having to stay in all the crazy hustle.

Inside the hotel, we thought The SIS Kata had the best breakfast in all the five hotels we visited, the largest selection and the best tasting overall. Lastly, the sunset rooftop pool was the best hangout area in the hotel!

Overall, hotel staff were super accommodating and very gay-friendly (so many of them are gay). There were also other gay couples staying in the resort who we were able to socialize with.

Anything you didn’t like? We thought that the room was a good size but needed a bit more light or warmth. It felt cozy but sometimes a little dark.

Krabi

Located just two hours drive from Phuket, Krabi is Phuket’s quieter and more relaxed cousin. The area is famous for its sheer cliffs and pillers that streach up out of the sea. Ideal for rock climbing. Famous beaches included Ao Nang, Railay and Klong Muang. Krabi also has its own airport and a large ferry network making it easy to get around and reach nearby Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, and Phuket.

Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf And Spa Resort

What did think of your Krabi hotel: We loved the pool! That pool was massive, it has to be one of the largest pools that I’ve ever been to! The largest pool in Thiland and we loved how our room had immediate access to the pool, with a private swimming area for us. The room was also massive!

Anything you didn’t like: The Sofitel location is out from the main town, quiet and peaceful but if you wanted to explore on your own or walk to a restaurant or bar you would have to take the hotel’s complimentary shuttle about 20mins.

Koh Samui – Taling Ngam

Koh Samui is Thailand from travel brochures, quiet white sandy beaches, jungle-covered mountains and luxury resorts surrounding the island. It’s a relatively quiet island with only a few party spots along Chaweng Beach. Flying into Koh Samui airport is the easiest way to reach the island. It’s around an hour’s flight from Phuket and Krabi.

On the southern tip of Koh Samui sits, Conrad. Perched on the steep hillside with 66 private pool villas.

Conrad Koh Samui

What did you think about the hotel: This hotel beat our expectations out of the water, the pool villas were on point with every detail, very modern but still with a tad of Thai taste to it. The sunset view directly ahead of the property really made it worth the visit. There were a lot of young couples so I think it’s easier to blend in with the other guests.

Anything you didn’t like: This is a hard question, maybe having to order a golf cart to ride around the resort but it wasn’t that bad to be honest

Insane Private Pool Villa

Koh Samui – Mae Nam Beach

Drive north for 45 mins from Taling Ngam and you will reach Mae Nam Beach. A 5 km stretch of white sand beach backed up by tropical jungle sitting on the island’s north coast. Relax on the beach, sipping your coconut mojito and enjoy the great views out of the water to Koh Phangan.

Koh Samui is the largest of three islands in the Gulf of Thailand. From the piers in north Koh Samui, it takes just 30 mins by speedboat to reach Koh Phangan, world renown for the full moon party, and 2 hours to reach the backpacking hub of Koh Tao.

Belmond Napasai

What did you think about the hotel: This hotel was basically a mansion in a jungle!! So much room, it had two different kitchens, a private living room, sitting area, numerous balconies and also a private pool! I loved the space, especially for large group members. Also, I loved the feeling of being lost in a jungle it really gave it a tropical feel to it, and this place also has an amazing sunset every afternoon.

If you want a hotel where you can bring a large group of LGBT friends and feel comfortable this is the place, perfect place to bring a reunion or special events for you and your loved ones.

Anything you didn’t like: Maybe the bugs but it comes with staying in a jungle haha

Koh Samui – Laem Nan Beach

Located between two of Koh Samui’s most popular beaches, Laem Nan is an ideal place to stay if you want to get out the resort exploring. For nightlife, Chaweng beach offers all of the island’s fun and is just 20 mins drive from Laem Nan.

Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa Island

What did you think about the hotel: Location! This hotel is in the middle of two of the best locations of Koh Samui! Chaweng for the great nightlife and clubs and Lamai for the beautiful peaceful beaches. You’re no more than 10 minutes from each location but still enough distance to have your peace. In the hotel we loved the very tropical oasis feeling, all around it felt like a very tropical vibe. The restaurants I have to say have one the tastiest dinners I’ve had in all of The restaurants in Koh Samui. They need to keep their chefs! Overall the villa was also very spacious and very well modestly decorated.

Anything you didn’t like: It’s a very small thing, but I feel that the paint of the hotel could be a more relaxing color, instead of orange, that’s what we all agreed to but besides that everything was great overall.
